I'm not the biggest golfer in the world getting out a few times a year if I'm lucky. I also watch the game casually, mostly the biggest tournaments and final rounds only when the kids' schedules allow.
But I was watching the Masters a few months ago and was obviously impressed by Jordan Spieth's performance but I was puzzled too. He was decked out in Under Armour gear. I wear a lot of Under Armour workout stuff and find it fits me better than most and is of good quality. I even blogged about their above average sneakers.
Could they actually make a good pair of khakis?
I went to Amazon and found that most of the Under Armour golf pants were on back order but a pair of khakis in my size could be found and for a rather affordable $50. Order them I did and a week or so later they arrived…from England. They're now more readily available on the online retailer but around $70-$80. It looks like you can get them at Dick's Sporting Goods too.
They're very lightweight but fit nicely if not a tiny bit snug in the crotch.
Generally I wear khakis from the Gap but they're somewhat formal khakis requiring a trip to the dry cleaner. The "casual" khakis at the Gap or elsewhere don't fit me as well for some reason. So I'm glad I have a pair that can hit the laundry hamper and are nice and light during hot and humid summer days.
