I feel really old when having to tell younger co-workers or friends just how pathetic today's crop of "rock" bands is compared to what I lived through as a teen and twenty-something. I sound like an old man who only likes Pearl Jam and Nirvana.
Those are just icons of that era, not the masses of amazing bands that were everywhere during that same time. Quicksand’s reformation on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday is the perfect example.
These two songs are two decades old, played perfectly and they actually sound fresh considering the din that is today's crop of bands with crappy names.
I've always had a music crush on Walter Schreifels that's clear, but dude looks good up there on national TV at 43. Maybe we can all keep aging gracefully.
