Well, here it is. The post every dad blogger has to write.
Father's Day is Sunday. I’m sure it will be nice and my family will make it special.
I'm not really worried about it. Not thinking about it much actually except for all the media coverage revolving around Father's Day that is.
All I can say is that after four years I haven't given up yet. That must be a good sign right? I didn't take an expensive test car and run off to Cabo to drink tequila with Sammy Hagar or something, leaving the kids to wonder why Mommy keeps telling them “Daddy's still on a business trip.”
Nope. I’m still here. Still trying to fix Big Wheels — unsuccessfully — and building elaborate train sets, somewhat successfully.
My role has developed into being the go-to resource for:
- Replacing batteries
- Figuring out the PS3 remote for Pixar DVDs
- Explaining Star Wars and both DC and Marvel universes’ heroes and villains
- Throwing my kids in the air
- Cuddler during cartoons
- Child seat installer
- Toy assembler
- Gift unwrapper (those annoying zipties)
What roles are on your list?
