I was a bit surprised when I got on my flight home today to see little stickers on the plane that said “Wi Fi” on it. When we passed 10,000 feet and could use electronic devices I whipped out my laptop, refreshed wireless networks and there it was, “SouthwestWi-Fi.”
Firefox fired up quickly and I was tweeting about the wifi. Then I though…I wonder how good the reception is. So I headed to Hulu and started catching up on Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. It loaded pretty quickly and the first seven minutes or so played flawlessly before the bugger needed some time. But I get that issue at home with my Comcast sometimes too.
Overall, I didn’t experience anything inferior in the air than I’ve found at countless ground-based wi-fi networks.
