Do Today's Dads Have Toy Envy?

Perhaps the coolest thing about Carter growing up is watching him learn to play with new toys. At 21 months he’s really into cars and trains. He just got a small Thomas the Train set as an early Christmas gift and he’s entranced by it.

For me though I love getting to walk up and down the toy aisles with an excuse to browse and not look like an uber geek. I’m kind of jonesing for Carter to get older so I can buy HIM Legos, action figures, comic books and of course video games. You know, for him…

I doubt this was something that got my parents very excited but it seems my generation is in arrested development and still fawns over Star Wars et al. Any other dads out there with older kids want to tell some stories about sharing toys with their kids? Or am I alone in this?
