We’re on the mailing list for the KDK restaurants, the company that owns Marche (we highly recommend), Opera and others. Last week we got an email about their new brunch promotion for Gioco with $10 valet parking before Bears games. We made a 9 a.m. reservation and went on over before the game. Not being familiar with the restaurant we just went with what looked good.
I had a pasta frittata. Basically they baked penne pasta into an egg frittata with broccoli rabe and sun-dried tomatoes. Courtney had a more traditional omelet with various vegetables. They both came with plenty of grilled potatoes and onions on the side and wheat toast. For $8 a plate it was quite good plus they kept the fresh OJ coming. Not the perfect meal before a football game, if you know what I’m talking about, but it was good nonetheless and if we ever ended up in the area for a casual dinner we might go back. This is one example of a restaurant promotion actually working. We never would have tried it otherwise.
